Summary:

Morrisville used two shutouts and an early four run rally in the title game to capture the state title. Tom Kaczor opened the tourney with a four-hit complete game as Morrisville defeated DuBois 2-0. Morrisville opened the game by loading the bases with no outs in the first inning, then Dick Hart greeted relief pitcher Bill Boyle with a two-run double to account for the game's only scoring.

In the semifinals, Morrisville pitcher Denny Poland allowed only a leadoff single in the first inning as Morrisville shut out Pittston 5-0. Kaczor and Hart hit back-to-back homers in the third inning to pace the offensive attack. In the other semifinal, Wellsboro pitcher Joe Patt retired the first eleven batters he faced before settling for a three-hitter in Wellsboro's 6-3 win over Oil City. Hartley Cloos hit a three-run homer for Wellsboro.

In the title game, Kaczor drove in four runs at the plate and scattered six hits on the mound to lead Morrisville to the win. Morrisville opened an early 4-0 lead on two-run singles by Kaczor and first baseman Vince Strasczynski in the third inning, but Wellsboro cut the lead to 4-3 on a three-run homer by Patt. Strasczynski homered in the sixth to extend the lead, and Vince Sawyer and Kaczor delivered insurance runs with RBI singles.
