The two pool winners advance to the championship game.

Ties are broken based on records in head-to-head competition among tied teams. If a clear winner cannot be determined from head-to-head results, the tie is broken by calculating the ratio of runs allowed to defensive innings played for all teams involved in the tie. The team with the lowest runs-per-defensive-inning ratio advances.

In the event of a tie involving three or more teams, once the initial tie is broken, the remaining tied teams are again compared on head-to-head record to determine if a clear winner can be identified. If no clear winner can be identified from head-to-head results among the remaining tied teams, the runs-per-defensive-inning ratio is again used. This process is repeated until all ties have been broken.

Championship Game (Sunday, August 2)

Keystone 3, Coral Springs American 2 (7 innings; TITLE)

After nine consecutive wins in which they outscored opponents by a 126-12 margin, the Keystone Little League all-star team's season came down to one swing of the bat.

Ezra Brennan made sure the swing counted.

Brennan lined the first pitch in the bottom of the seventh inning of the Florida state championship game over the right field fence, and his walkoff home run lifted Keystone to a 3-2 victory over Coral Springs American Little League at Canopy Oaks Park in Tallahassee.

The homer gave Keystone its fourth victory in as many games at the state tournament, and advanced the Tampa-based team to the Southeastern Region tournament in Warner Robins, Georgia.

Coral Springs American broke to an early 1-0 lead in the championship game. Ryan Monakey bounced a single up the middle to open the game, and two outs later, Matthew Vargas' single to center plated Mikey Sarakinis. Coral Springs advanced runners to second and third, but Keystone escaped further damage with an inning-ending fly ball.

Keystone kept Coral Springs' offense in check until the sixth inning following the opening salvo, and their offense got untracked in the fourth inning. Austin Grause singled to left field to open the frame, then Keaton Howard lined a two-run homer over the center field fence to give Keystone a 2-1 lead. Coral Springs American drew level when Vargas opened the top of the sixth with a home run over the center field fence.

Keystone seemed poised to end the game in the bottom of the sixth, when the District 6 champions loaded the bases with no outs following Grause's double, an intentional walk to Howard, and a hit batsman. But Coral Springs wiggled out of the jam, getting a force at home, a strikeout, and a popout to escape the jam and extend the game into extra innings.

Keystone relief pitcher Brett Schoessler moved to the mound in the second inning, after Coral Springs American collected a pair of baserunners for the second consecutive inning. Schoessler proceeded to throw 5-1/3 innings, strike out ten, and surrender just four hits through the rest of the game. He retired the first eight hitters he faced, and 11 of 12, to carry his team into the sixth inning with their slim lead.

Keystone, which had previously won state championships in the 9-10 year old division in 2013 and in the 10-11 year old division in 2014, swept past its three pool opponents at the state tournament to advance to the title game. A five-run third inning rally propelled the District 6 winners to a 15-1 victory over homestanding Northwest Leon Little League, then Keystone dispatched Palm Coast Little League, 15-2. The two wins moved Keystone into a matchup with a Viera/Suntree Little League team that had also won its first two pool games, and with a title game berth on the line under the tournament's pool format, Keystone eliminated their Atlantic Coast foes, 10-4.

Coral Springs American had a more precarious path to the championship game, as each of the four teams in its pool split their first two games. This logjam entering the final day of pool competition ensured that two teams would finish with 2-1 records, and meant that each of the four hopefuls would need a win in their final pool game, as well as a specific team winning in the other final round matchup to secure the pool's championship game berth.

The results broke Coral Springs' way: the District 10 champions survived a furious eight-run rally in the bottom of the sixth inning while holding off Lakewood Ranch Little League, 10-9. When Sarasota American Little League topped Dr. Phillips Little League, 4-2, in the other pool contest, Coral Springs American held a tiebreaker advantage due to their earlier 6-4 victory over Sarasota American. Sarasota American became the ninth Florida district champion to exit the 2015 international tournament after suffering a single loss following district tournament competition.

Once in the title game, Coral Springs played Keystone evenly through six innings, before eventually succumbing on Brennan's tournament-ending hit.

Keystone went on to win its first two games at the Southeastern Region tournament, but dropped a one-run game to eventual Little League World Series qualifier Northwood Little League (Taylors, South Carolina) and a 5-2 decision against Mechanicsville American Little League (Virginia) to finish the tournament in third place.
