The top two teams in each pool advance to the semifinal round.
Ties are broken based on records in head-to-head competition among tied teams. If a clear winner cannot be determined from head-to-head results, the tie is broken by calculating the ratio of runs allowed to defensive innings played for all teams involved in the tie. The team with the lowest runs-per-defensive-inning ratio advances.
In the event of a tie involving three or more teams, once the initial tie is broken, the remaining tied teams are again compared on head-to-head record to determine if a clear winner can be identified. If no clear winner can be identified from head-to-head results among the remaining tied teams, the runs-per-defensive-inning ratio is again used. This process is repeated until all ties have been broken.

Florida State Championship Game (Monday, August 3)
Rockledge 5, West Pasco 4 (TITLE)
Summary:
Chris Aurand and Ryan Hinz hit first inning home runs, helping their Rockledge Little League team avenge an earlier defeat with a 5-4 victory over West Pasco Little League in the championship game of the Florida state tournament in Winter Park.
The victory, Rockledge's fourth in five games at the state tournament, gave the Space Coast team their first-ever state championship in the major baseball division. Rockledge advanced to the Southeastern Region tournament in Ceredo-Kenova, West Virginia, where they advanced to the semifinal round before being eliminated.
"Our bats woke up and we got some key hits this time," said Rockledge manager Mike Spinneweber. "The difference between this game and the one last Saturday against West Pasco was that we hit better this time and our pitching held up."
Rockledge and West Pasco had both reached the semifinal round from the same pool, and West Pasco won the teams' earlier meeting, 5-2. In the teams' first meeting, a trio of West Pasco pitchers combined to hold Rockledge to just three hits, and West Pasco's defense turned a pair of double plays. In the championship game rematch, Rockledge countered a game-opening home run by West Pasco's Harrison Keslar with the two drives in the bottom of the inning to build a 4-1 lead. Rockledge added an insurance run in the fifth, pushing across a run with three singles, and then the eventual champions closed out the win after West Pasco pinch hitter R.J. Johnston pulled his team to within a run with a pinch-hit home run.
Rockledge starting pitcher Scott Webbar threw five strong innings before reliever Austin Dennis closed out the win. West Pasco starter Tyler Hawk held Rockledge in check after the initial rally before departing after four innings due to pitch count limitations. Reliever Chris Chiger threw the final two innings for the Gulf Coast team.
Rockledge reached the championship game by edging North Springs Little League, 4-2, in the semifinal round. Hinz threw a complete game for the winners, and Rockledge snapped a 2-2 tie with a pair of runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to move in front for good. Chase Valerio and Matt Dillon both homered for the winners.
North Springs stranded runners in scoring position in both the fifth and sixth innings while tumbling to their first defeat in ten international tournament games.
West Pasco had an easier time in its semifinal round matchup, getting three extra base hits and five runs batted in from pitcher Blaize Grabowski in a mercy rule-shortened 12-2 victory over Greater West Melbourne Little League. Grabowski, who struck out four and scattered five hits in a four inning complete game, delivered two doubles and a home run for the winners. Keslar and Hawk each homered and collected three hits, while Elliot Desvergnes doubled and drove in two runs.
Rockledge opened the tournament with a 10-6 win over Niceville Valparaiso National Little League, and after the loss to West Pasco, eased past Dr. Phillips National Little League, 10-1, in the final round of pool competition. West Pasco edged Dr. Phillips in the opener, turning a pair of double plays and benefitting when outfielder Kyle Lanphear reached over the outfield fence to pull back a would-be two-run homer in the fourth inning that preserved a 3-1 victory. After defeating Rockledge, West Pasco closed out pool competition by rallying past Niceville Valparaiso National, 9-6. The two teams were tied 5-5 through four innings before West Pasco took command of the game. Hawk had two hits and three runs batted in for West Pasco, while Desvergnes and Chigler each added two hits for the winners.
North Springs emerged as the top team from Pool 'B', opening the tournament with a combined perfect game from pitchers Josh Koebel (four innings pitched) and Danny Ruiz (one inning) in a 10-0 victory over North Naples Little League. The next day, North Springs hitters slammed eight home runs in a pair of wins, as the Broward County team outslugged Manatee Central Little League (11-7) and Greater West Melbourne (10-8) to claim first place in their pool.
Rockledge, which reached the state tournament in the major baseball division for the first time since 1994 and just the third time in the league's history, also enjoyed stellar tournament runs in other age divisions. Rockledge's 9-10 and Junior League all-star teams both won district and sectional titles before finishing as the state runner-up in their respective divisions.
