Summary:
Connellsville Little League made a first inning run hold up as it bested Levittown International Little League for the state championship at James E. Bowman Memorial Field in Latrobe.
Connellsville scored the game's only run when Bob Bailor singled and advanced to third on a hit batsman and Fred Norton's fielder's choice grounder to short. With runners at first and third and two outs, Norton broke for second in an attempted steal, and Bailor crossed home plate after Levittown's catcher threw to second base.
In the consolation game, Pittston hurler Charles Turco threw a perfect game and fanned 13 to lead his team past Beaver Area Little League. Louis Loquasto's three run humer in the first inning provided most of the Pittston offense.
