Summary:

Dillon Casey led off the state championship game with a home run, and his Peccole Little League all-star team never looked back in a 13-3 victory over Washoe Little League in the Nevada state championship game at Peccole's Rainbow Family Park in Las Vegas.

With the win, Peccole claimed its second major baseball division state championship in four years, and advanced to the West Region tournament in San Bernardino, California.

Casey's instant offense was one of five Peccole home runs in the title game. Pitcher Johnny Hernandez added a two-run homer later in the first inning, and Hunter Davidson followed with a longball of his own.

Brady Burns and Joseph Merino added homers in the second, when Peccole capitalized on a two-out, bases-empty error to extend their lead to 9-2.

Sean DeWeese and Anthony Rosa homered for Washoe, which finished as the Nevada runner-up for the third consecutive year.

Peccole's championship game win was their second in three meetings with the District 1 titlists. Hernandez hit a two-run homer and pitched a complete game as Peccole won the first meeting, 5-1, in the winner's bracket final. Washoe earned a rematch with a 16-3 win over Las Vegas' Silverado Little League, then edged Peccole, 6-5, to force a deciding game. Peccole carried a 5-0 lead into the fifth inning on the strength of homers by Davidson and Adrian Favela, but Washoe rallied late to extend the tournament by a day.

Peccole had opened the tournament with a 10-0 win over Silverado. Pitcher Corey Lafler staked the tournament hosts to an early lead with a three-run homer in the bottom of the first, and Zach Last added a pair of home runs for the winners.

Peccole split its four pool games at the West Region tournament, and reached the semifinal round before falling to eventual region champion Rancho Buena Vista Little League (Vista, Southern California) by a 13-3 score.
