Maine State Champions in the 1950s

Suburban, a Portland-area league covering the suburbs of Cape Elizabeth, Westbrook, Scarborough and Falmouth, became Maine's first ever World Series entrant by winning a region title in 1951. As the decade progressed, Maine established the forerunner to its current district structure, and expanded from two districts to five between 1957 and 1959.

The Katahdin Valley Little League was runner-up to Portland League One in 1957 and to Saco-Old Orchard Beach in 1958.
