Hoisington took a 3-1 lead in the bottom of the second, but Baxter, which committed no title game errors, shut down Hoisington and scored single runs in the top of the third, fourth, and fifth innings to rally for the win. In the semifinals, Baxter scored five first inning runs, and pitcher Bill Randall allowed only two hits. Baxter's Brian Taylor singled twice and also homered.
