All-Tohoku Tournament

Format: This is a three-stage tournament. In the first stage, leagues compete in area tournaments that determine which teams qualify for the All-Tohoku tournament. Three teams from the Fukushima block, three from the Miyagi block, two from the Iwate block, and one league each from the Akita, Aomori, Miyagi Nishi, and Yamagata block all advance to the All-Tohoku tournament.

Bracket positions in the All-Tohoku tournament are determined so that leagues from the same block are placed in different parts of the draw, and so that the winners of blocks with more teams entered in the tournament (Fukushima, Miyagi, and Iwate) cannot meet until the finals.

In the tournament's second stage, twelve teams compete in a single-elimination tournament until three teams remain. These three teams then advance to the third stage, which is a round-robin playoff that determines the Tohoku champion and runner-up. The top two finishers in the tournament advance to the Japanese Region tournament
