The turn of the century marked a golden age for Georgia league in the international tournament. Columbus Northern became Georgia's second-ever Little League World Series qualifier in 2006, and later that summer, became the state's second international tournament champion with a 2-1 victory over Kawaguchi (Japan) Little League in the Little League World Series championship game. The next summer, Warner Robins American matched the feat with wins in the Georgia state tournament and a walk-off, 3-2 victory in extra innings over Tokyo Kitasuna Little League in that summer's Little League World Series champioship game.
Warner Robins American returned to South Williamsport in 2009 following the league's unprecedented third consecutive Georgia title. Four other Georgia leagues all reached region championship games before being eliminated, including Buckhead Little League in 2005 and 2003, Columbus Northern in 2004, and Sandy Springs in 2001.
