The 2010 Asia-Pacific Region tournament was held in Jakarta, Indonesia. The Australian national champion did not compete in this tournament due to the Australian government's high level terrorist activity warning for that country. Instead, the winning team participated in a series of games of New Zealand arranged by the Australian Baseball Federation.

Summary:

For Adelaide Southern Little League, the third time was the charm.

Making their third straight trip to the Australian national championship game, Adelaide brought home its first title by edging Ringwood District Little League, 4-3, at Sir Bruce Small Park in Benowa, Queensland. The victory clinched the first Australian national championship at any level by any South Australian baseball club in 22 years.

Adelaide Southern jumped to a quick 3-0 lead in the championship game at the third annual Australian championship tournament, before Ringwood District scored once in the second and twice more in the fifth to tie the score. The game ended when an Adelaide player was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded in the bottom of the sixth inning.

Adelaide won all five of its games at the Australian championship tournament, which was hosted by the Surfers' Paradise Baseball Club for the second consecutive year. After streaking to a pair of mercy rule-shortened wins during pool competition on the tournament's first day, Adelaide Southern edged Brisbane Metro, 7-5, in the quarterfinal round, then topped New South Wales champion Cronulla South Little League, 5-1, in the semifinal round. Jorden McArdle and Sam McGarry led the offense with a pair of hits apiece against Brisbane Metro, and McGarry threw a complete game in the win over Cronulla. Charlie Goldsworthy hit an inside-the-park home run in the semifinal win, as Adelaide Southern snapped a 1-1 tie after three innings and pulled away with runs in each of the game's final three innings.

In the quarterfinal round win, Adelaide rallied from 1-0 and 4-3 deficits, and took the lead for good with a three-run rally in the bottom of the fourth inning. Matt Hutchings and Mitchell Lightbody combined in the pitching effort that kept Southern on course for its third consecutive appearance in the national championship game. Adelaide Southern fell, 3-2, to Hills South Little League in the inaugural Australian championship tournament, and was beaten 11-1 by Waverley Little League in 2009.

Waverley returned to the semifinal in 2010, the third consecutive year that the Victorian club advanced to that point in the tournament. But Ringwood District struck for four runs in the bottom of the first inning, and ran out to a 7-1 victory to become the first non-metro league to advance to the Australian championship game.

Ringwood District had won its two pool games, including a 28-0 steamrolling of Far North Coast Little League and a 6-5 decision over Perth Metro South Little League. The Victorian Country champions then scored in each of their three at-bats in a 13-0 victory over Mount Gambier. Justin Hall doubled and tripled for the winners, and pitcher Charlie Keyhole threw a 44-pitch complete game.

Ringwood District had reached the national tournament by winning the Country Victoria championship in July 2009. The early qualifying tournament was driven by the fact that Country Victoria leagues compete on a Winter schedule, which runs mid-year in the Southern Hemisphere.

Australian officials elected not to send the national champion to the Asia-Pacific Region tournament, which was held in Jakarta, Indonesia, due to the Australian government's high-level terrorist activity warning for that country. Instead, Adelaide Southern embarked on a tour of New Zealand in early October, where the league played friendly contests against Under-12 and Under-14 year old clubs from New Zealand.
