Summary:
North Braddock Little League scored only two runs in the 1979 edition of the Pennsylvania state tournament, but still came away with the title by recording consecutive 1-0 victories over Lionville Little League and Latrobe Little League.
Against Lionville, third baseman Ken Trusky lined a two-out double in the fifth inning that scored James Ryan from first base with the game's only run. Ryan also pitched a complete game, striking out 12 and allowing only a leadoff single to John Talerico in the first inning. Lionville's Kevin Beaupit surrendered five hits in defeat. North Braddock then edged tournament host Latrobe in a seven inning contest to capture the state title.
