Little League Baseball's presence in Georgia has grown markedly since that initial summer. The seven league footprint has expanded to encompass over 80 leagues organized into ten districts across the state. In addition to the local charters, Little League Baseball relocated its Southeastern Region headquarters to Warner Robins in 2010, opening new offices and building playing fields that will play host to the Southeastern Region tournament each summer.
Georgia's ten district champions compete in a state tournament that determines the Georgia representative in the Southeastern Region tournament, and the region winner then advances to the Little League World Series in South Williamsport, Pennsylvania. Six Georgia leagues have reached the Little League World Series, and three have won the championship. East Marietta National Little League defeated Liquito Hernandez Little League (Barahona, Dominican Republic), 3-1, in the 1983 Little League World Series championship game. Nearly a quarter-century later, Columbus Northern Little League (2006) and Warner Robins American Little League (2007) brought consecutive championship flags back to Georgia with title game victories over teams from Japan.
Georgia's most recent Little League World Series qualifier is Warner Robins American East Little League, which advanced to South Williamsport in 2011.
